Then my aunt died at 11 months old, a baby from simple starvation because they starved my grandmother who could then not breastfeed, which led to infection, pneumonia. My family was not spared to live. They were used as slaves like most people in the USSR, whether you were a citizen or not. The Soviets refuse to give any papers they have on my family with their obsessions about documenting everything that happened at that time.
