Jetlag kept me from last night's lecture by Natan Sharansky at the Shalem Center on the political thought of Herzl. Judy from Jerusalem Diaries has the scoop. Unfortunately, it sounds like I didn't miss much.
Frankly, I'd rather see Sharansky return to activity in Israeli politics, rather than travelling the world to hawk his ghostwritten book and hobnob with world leaders.

I don't think that politics was ever his aim.
The moment he entered politics, it became his aim. He is an elected official of the State of Israel. How come I never hear anything about him in his official capacity?
If he's tired of politics, let him resign. That's perfectly respectable.
Are you implying Jersusalem is not part of Israel? :-)
Sharvul,
I grant he deserves some credit for at least being in Jerusalem, for which he has ministerial responsibility (whateve that's worth).
really enjoyed it. Thanks!
