Burning thoughts on Torah, politics, and life in Israel and the Jewish world
Hey, would you consider doing your stuff with GDP?For example, Israel is at a serious disadvantage in GDP/capita due to larger families. Also, what do poverty stats look like once voluntary poverty (e.g. kolelniks) is removed?Or how about PPP once frum education is factored in?These are the sorts of figures that are really important to people. I don't know why they never appear in news stories.
I like the idea. GDP is difficult to estimate, and even more difficult to compare among different societies and cultures.I'll have to see if I can rustle up enough data to say something meaningful.
We have figures for GDP, for age structure of the population (to figure GDP/adult), for kolel/yeshiva students, for Day School costs in the US, etc.We just need to put them together...Looking forward to it!
